Manual Lymphatic Drainage Specialist in Reading - Post Surgery - Lymphoedema - Lipoed

Welcome to I Am Mine Therapies
Hello, I'm Nicola Kenworthy.
Whether you're recovering from surgery, living with lymphoedema, managing the effects of cancer treatment, or simply looking to improve your health and wellbeing, I provide specialist, personalised treatments tailored to your individual needs.
With over 12 years' experience in Manual Lymphatic Drainage and four years at the Oxford NHS Lymphoedema Clinic, my aim is to help you reduce pain and swelling, restore movement, and improve your quality of life.
I look forward to welcoming you to I Am Mine Therapies.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) is a gentle, specialised treatment that stimulates the lymphatic system, helping to reduce swelling, support the immune system and promote a sense of wellbeing.
For those living with Primary or Secondary Lymphoedema, a personalised treatment programme may include Manual Lymphatic Drainage, compression therapy, skincare advice and exercise to achieve the best possible outcomes.
MLD is also widely recommended following surgery to help reduce swelling, support healing and minimise fibrosis (scar tissue hardening). Deep Oscillation Therapy is available to further enhance recovery.
Intensive treatment packages are available for both lymphoedema management and post-surgical recovery.

I qualified in the Vodder Method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage in 2014 and continue to develop my expertise through advanced training, including regular updates with the Foeldi Clinic, one of the world's leading lymphology centres.
I have also completed specialist training in Fluoroscopy Guided MLD through the Lymphedema Training Academy, enabling treatment to be tailored to each individual's lymphatic pathways.
My four years working alongside the specialist nurses at the Oxford NHS Lymphoedema Clinic, combined with my private practice, have given me extensive experience in supporting people with lymphoedema and working alongside NHS services to achieve the best possible outcomes.
I am a full member of MLD UK, the professional association for Manual Lymphatic Drainage practitioners in the UK.

DEEP OSCILLATION®
Deep Oscillation is a clinically proven, gentle, yet powerful, electrostatic lymphatic drainage massage, which permeates an 8cm tissue depth. The impulses are delivered by the gloved hands of the therapist: significantly reducing pain, swelling and inflammation, promoting mobility and well being.
Deep oscillation therapy has proven effects in post (plastic) surgery and liposuction interventions. It reduces pain and oedema, improves mobility and promotes wound healing among other effects. It has been used in this field around the globe for many years, e.g. after mastectomy or breast reconstruction.

Alongside my specialist qualifications in Manual Lymphatic Drainage, I am also trained in RESTORE Scar Therapy.
Scars are far more than a mark on the skin. They can affect the tissues beneath the surface, leading to tightness, discomfort, altered sensation, restricted movement and, in some cases, ongoing pain. Whether caused by surgery, injury, burns or cancer treatment, every scar has the potential to affect the way your body moves and feels.
RESTORE Scar Therapy is a gentle, hands-on treatment designed to improve the appearance, texture and mobility of scar tissue. It can help soften scars, reduce tightness and sensitivity, improve movement and support the body's natural healing processes.
Many people are surprised to find that symptoms they had never linked to an old scar can improve with treatment. Even scars that are many years old may respond positively.
Every scar is unique, so treatment is tailored to your individual needs to achieve the best possible functional and cosmetic outcome.

Welcome to I Am Mine Therapies.
